iOS 26 is now available for early users. Apple has released the iOS 26 developer beta after the WWDC 2025 keynote. If you want to experience the latest iOS release first, here is how you can download and install the iOS 26 developer beta on your iPhone.
iOS 26, which can also be referred to as iOS 19, comes with an all-new design language in which Apple has introduced a transparent design which it calls Liquid Glass. It looks similar to Glassmorphism, although it is not as polished. Apart from the new UI, iOS 26 also adds several new features such as better personalization options, new animations, live translation, and more.

With these major changes, many users would like to try this new iOS 26 before its official public release. However, not all iPhone models are eligible for this update. Unfortunately, some older iPhone models have been left out of this new iOS release. Below is the list of supported iPhone models.

How to get the new iOS 26?
If your iPhone is included in this list, then you are eligible to install iOS 26 Developer Beta 1. Although everything looks good at the time of announcement, you should avoid installing the first beta immediately, as it may contain some bugs and not everyone likes the new iOS design. But if you have a secondary iphone or you don’t mind the bugs, then you can install it according to the installation guide below.
The good news is that you don’t need a developer account to test iOS 26 Developer Beta. This means that any user can download and install iOS 26 Developer Beta on their iPhone.
Steps required for installation:
- First, take an iCloud or local backup of your data, so that if something goes wrong, your data is safe.
- Make sure your device has at least 20 GB of free space for installation.
- Now, go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone.
- Tap Beta Update there. If this option is not visible, refresh the page.
- Under Beta Update, select iOS 26 Developer Beta and then go back to Software Update.
- Your device will look for the new update. When iOS 26 beta appears, proceed to download and install it.
- Keep in mind that the installation process may take some time and the device may restart several times. Don’t panic, this is normal.
Although Apple has removed the developer account requirement and has now given all users the opportunity to test the iOS 26 Developer Beta, I would still suggest you wait for the public beta. The public beta will be more polished and stable, with not many bugs, and it may be released in the next few weeks.
