Rockstar Games Confirms GTA 6 Release Delayed Again — Now Launching on November 19, 2026

It was originally scheduled for the fall of 2025, but due to development issues, it was pushed back to May 26, 2026. Now, Rockstar has announced another six-month delay. This means the game’s release has now been pushed back a full year.

The company said in its statement, (Rockstar Games, GTA 6)

We regret the long wait, but this additional time will allow us to bring the game to the level of quality and perfection that our players expect and deserve.

When we set a release date, we work diligently towards it. But if we feel a game needs further refinement to achieve its best possible form, we always give it that time—and that’s exactly what happened this time.

He added, We feel very confident about the new date. It falls within the same fiscal year, and it’s an ideal time for release. We fully support Rockstar’s creative direction.

When asked why the release was pushed back by more than a year, Zelnick explained, If you consider the amount of preparation required to bring a major game to market, this date doesn’t seem far off. We also need to begin marketing activities well in advance to provide clarity to consumers. And we believe this timeframe is appropriate.

While this news may be disappointing for fans, it’s hoped that Rockstar will try to alleviate some of this disappointment by releasing a new trailer or update soon—as the company did last time.

While it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, it will be interesting to keep an eye out for new announcements and content related to GTA 6 in the coming days.
