Activision hasn’t shared much information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 so far. The only major unveiling of the game so far was at the recent Xbox Showcase. But soon after, some images leaked from the Call of Duty app available on Xbox have thrown a wrench in the company’s plans.
These leaked images have given a glimpse of the upcoming features of the game – including some new operators, weapons, and two brand new multiplayer modes.
The leak was first exposed by renowned Call of Duty data tracker CharlieIntel, who posted these images on X (formerly Twitter). It was told that these images were actually related to an internal playtest and were kept only for developers, but due to a technical error, they became publicly available on the app.

The leaked screenshots show operators full of high-tech vibes along with a glimpse of two multiplayer modes. Black Ops 7’s sci-fi look is clearly visible in these images—like one operator’s helmet that resembles the Spartans from the ‘Halo’ game.
Talking about the weapons, one of these SMGs looks like the Cordite seen in the old Black Ops 4. Apart from this, a dual barrel assault rifle is also seen, which could be the Doublecross (or Echohawk Dual Bore).
However, the return of these weapons cannot be considered confirmed as all these are based only on early glimpses.
While Activision’s senior communications director Stephanie Snowden has made it clear that the jetpack will not be making a comeback in Black Ops 7 this time, on the other hand, a jetpack-like device has also been seen on the back of an operator in the screenshot. This has led to speculation that it could be just a cosmetic or could also be a new type of exo-suit.
Now let’s talk about the two new leaked game modes:
1. Overload: In this mode, two teams of 6 players each compete for control of a neutral EMP device. This device has to be delivered to the enemy’s headquarters to get points. The team wins by delivering multiple devices and crossing the score limit.
2. Skirmish: In this mode, two large teams of 20 players each compete to complete various objectives on a huge map. Such as capturing points of interest, destroying payloads, and transmitting important data. There is also mention of a wingsuit here, which allows players to dodge the enemy and reach the objective of the mode faster. Whichever team reaches the score limit first, becomes the winner.
The Skirmish mode makes it clear that Black Ops 7 will focus on large-scale multiplayer maps and the movement system has been made more dynamic than before.
That’s all the information available right now, but more details are expected to surface in the coming weeks as internal testing intensifies.
Until then, let us know in the comments what features you’re looking forward to in Black Ops 7.
