Google has launched the third beta version of Android 16 QPR1, which is the first beta release for Pixel devices in the month of July. This QPR1 (Quarterly Platform Release) version will be part of the upcoming Pixel Feature Drop. Through this update, the company has made many important improvements that were being tested from the first beta version.
What’s new in Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3?
This new beta version is mainly focused on improving bugs and increasing system stability. Since this may be the last step before the public release, it has fixed technical shortcomings based on user feedback. Users of Pixel 6 and newer models who are registered in the beta program can install this update on their devices.
The build number of this beta update is BP31.250610.004. At the same time, a different version of it is available for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro by the name of BP31.250610.004.A1. Also, the latest security patch till July 2025 has also been included with this update.
The problems that have been fixed include:
- Fault in the RTOS task list, due to which the device was restarting repeatedly.
- Launcher not appearing properly.
- Flaws in notification display.
- Media player not appearing or not working properly in the notification pulldown.
- Sudden restart of the device due to class loader.
- Unwanted restarts also due to kernel bugs.
- Camera not working and black screen on startup.
- No corner padding in status bar icons.
- Message folding feature not working in the notification shade.
How to try this beta version?
If you have a compatible Pixel device, you can easily get this update by participating in Google’s beta program. After joining the beta program, the new version will be available on your device as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
