Marvel Rivals: Season 2.5 Release Date

Marvel Rivals: Ultron Role and Abilities

Ultron joins Marvel Rivals as a unique Strategist Hero who brings a versatile blend of aggression, support, and aerial mobility. He’s the first Strategist to fly, giving him a serious edge in vertical combat and map control. His Basic Attack fires a continuous laser burst that’s similar to Emma Frost’s attack, but has a much longer range — even surpassing Emma and Iron Man’s Unibeam.

Ultron’s toolkit makes him a hybrid force on the battlefield. He can easily switch between supporting his team and pressuring the enemy backline. His skill Imperative Patch allows him to heal allies from a distance, ideal for keeping flankers and flying heroes like Venom, Spider-Man, Iron Man, or The Thing in the fight. The Imperative Firewall ability paired with this gives extra health to patched allies, making Ultron a strong backline defender and a reliable support unit.

But healing isn’t his main strength. Ultron performs best when played aggressively—supporting dives, dealing damage, and maintaining position with drones and energy weapons. His design focuses on firepower, smart positioning, and battlefield control rather than healing or mere force.

NetEase has crafted Ultron as a high-tech strategist who rewards players who combine strong offensive pressure with clever moves. His full ability kit looks like this:

Encephalo-Ray

Release a burning energy beam using the primary fire/left mouse button. This beam will deal continuous damage to enemies it hits. This attack works similar to Scarlet Witch’s normal attacks.

Imperative: Patch

Press E to use Ultron’s healing ability. As soon as you press the button, a giant drone will be deployed that will follow the selected teammate, providing constant healing to nearby teammates and additional healing to the selected target.

Ultron’s alternate attack is a shield that does more than just a simple damage block. Secondary fire/press right mouse button to summon drones that create a firewall and provide extra health to nearby teammates. This primarily focuses on Ultron and the teammate who is marked by the Imperative Patch.

Dynamic Flight and Algorithm Correction

Flying is a vital part of the Weapon of Justice. Not only can you hold down the Shift button to gain altitude, but it also puts Ultron into a free flight mode. To descend slowly, you can hold down the Spacebar to fall smoothly. This works just like Scarlet Witch’s flight when she flies after invisibility mode.

Activate your Q/Ultimate to summon Ultron’s drones, which boost your effect by firing Encephalo-Rays — these damage enemies and heal nearby teammates. The drones perform AoE (area of effect) splash attacks based on your movements.

Ultron Team Up Ability in Marvel Rivals

Ultron gets a unique team-up ability with Iron Man called the Stark Protocol. It allows him to fire Iron Man’s Unibeam — a powerful, piercing blast that damages enemies while healing teammates. It’s similar to Invisible Woman’s basic attack, but with more consistent burst damage and healing. You’ll be able to team up with Iron Man to use this combo once Season 2.5 launches.

So, are you ready to wreak havoc with Ultron and his hybrid abilities in Marvel Rivals on May 30 Which Marvel Rivals characters are you most excited to use with him? Let us know in the comments.
